GLASS IS BACK!!

 

We are excited to report that we have found a new glass jar for our 16 oz. salsas!  We have always been a fan of the glass jar but were forced earlier this year to find an alternative package because of changes in the glass industry and with our suppliers.  While we were reluctant to change, we decided on a plastic container that we felt had many benefits.  Now we are moving to a new glass jar and are excited to be packaging our fresh salsas in a high quality, fully recyclable container.  We know many of our customers prefer the glass and we are very pleased that we can bring our quality products to you in our new quality jar.  We would be very interested in hearing your comments on our new container!

Another remarkable year at the Scovie Awards for Salsa Lisa!

 

What are the Scovies?  The Scovie Awards are considered the nation's most prestigious event in the spicy foods industry.  Every year the Scovie Awards are held in New Mexico where hundreds of top gourmet brands from all over the country (and internationally) are sent to be judged by an elite group of top chefs, culinary experts, and food writers.  The judges taste the products in the varying categories and rank their top picks according to taste, appearance, texture, flavor interest and overall appeal.  The format is a blind tasting so that the judges do not know which products they are ranking until after all the products have been tasted and the results are in.

 

How did we do?  Awesome!  We are extremely proud and excited to report that we had three winners this year!

 

Salsa Lisa Real Hot Original Recipe--took third place in its division,

 

Salsa Lisa Roasted Chipotle--took second place in its division, and

 

Salsa Lisa Pineapple Ginger--took FIRST PLACE in its division, the first year it has been entered!

New Product Update!

We’re proud to introduce our latest addition to the Salsa Lisa line of quality salsas--Pineapple Ginger!  This fabulous new  recipe combines the lively, fruity, island flavor of pineapple with the subtle undertones of exotic ginger.  The result is a wonderfully full-flavored salsa that is sweet and savory but not too sweet.  Our first fruit salsa, Pineapple Ginger has been an immediate crowd pleaser that brings a completely unique flavor to the table.  Enjoy Pineapple Ginger on your favorite chips or mix it with cream cheese for a simple yet flavorful dip or spread.  We enjoy Pineapple Ginger on our favorite grilled or broiled foods such as fish, chicken, seafood and pork.  There's also a wonderful stir-fry recipe using Pineapple Ginger, chicken, and your favorite veggies.  (Check out the recipe page!)  Pineapple Ginger is the latest addition to our Specialty Recipe line of salsas that also includes Tomatillo Green Chile and Roasted Chipotle.  All of our flavors are full and distinct with each recipe presenting its own personality and unique flavor profile.  And of course, as you've come to expect from Salsa Lisa, each flavor is wonderfully fresh made with handcrafted care and the best, highest quality ingredients.  We hope you enjoy trying them all!  You can find our new Pineapple Ginger alongside our other flavors in the refrigerated dairy case--if you can't find it, talk to the dairy manager and please drop us a line to let us know.

For those of you who have signed up for the Salsa Lisa newsletter, you’ve probably noticed that you are now receiving our quarterly recipe email. We introduced the email last fall with five unique and hearty chili recipes – and followed that up with wonderfully warm and comforting crock pot recipes for winter.
